Surakshit Dada-Dadi, Nana-Nani Abhiyaan is a collaborative effort between NITI Aayog, Piramal Foundation, and 25 Aspirational Districts to ensure the well-being of 2.9 million Senior Citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Behavioral change and continuos support is required to help Senior Citizens adopt to the safety measures of COVID-19
Unfettered access to essential services by Senior Citizens is limited to people in well connected areas
The lack of quick action to symptoms makes containment difficult as early detection methods are limited
The Abhiyaan would support District Administration by driving behaviour change through family members, PRI, Teachers and other Community members
The Abhiyaan would support District Administration by enabling response action for access to basic resources such as food and medicines
The Abhiyaan would support District Administration by encouraging and motivating Senior Citizens and their family to do early screening for COVID-19
Apart from these districts, the abhiyaan is also running in Narmada, Gujrat and Hailakandi, Assam
The Aspirational Districts Transformation Program was launched in 2017 in partnership with Piramal Foundation to improve Education and Health indicators in these districts that ranked in the bottom of NITI’s ratings.
