Piramal Sarvajal partners with the Government of Maharashtra to bring in Maha Parivartan

Piramal Sarvajal signed an MoU with the with Govt. of Maharashtra to enable effective last-mile service provision for drinking water.

MoU signed by Maharashtra Government on 12th February with multiple organisations where Sarvajal will work with Village Social Transformation Foundation (VSTF) in setting up a Technical Support Unit to help VSTF run a SHG based entrepreneurial drinking water solution.

Piramal Sarvajal will assist VSTF as a Technical Support Unit to enable effective last-mile service provision for drinking water by providing tried and tested methodology and processes for selection of villages and locally appropriate solution. It will provide required training, tools for assessment of villages, training of SHGs on service economics and daily operations of safe drinking water installations. It will also create processes to support viability of the intervention and build a scalable model.

 

Sarvajal will also partner with the Nagpur  Municipal Corporation to set up a Technical Support Unit (TSU) for evolving a process for Need Assessment and Solutioning for Beyond the Pipe areas in large cities, with Nagpur as it's first test-case.

Piramal Sarvajal proposes to set up a TSU to conduct need assessment studies in 8 slums of Nagpur, the study will include the current water source, its quality and reliability, the challenges faced and prevailing health issues in the communities due to lack of safe drinking water availability. It will also study the perceptions of the quality of water and their willingness to pay for safe drinking water. Post the study it will engage stakeholders and design a solution for implementing smart city safe drinking water project for such areas.
