Piramal Foundation to participate in the 8th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (a premier event organized by Health Systems Global) at Nagasaki, Japan. Digital Bharat Collaborative CEO Ishmeet Singh shared key insights on the digital transformation of healthcare based on experiences in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The session brought together government representatives, academics, researchers, and partners from across the globe.

Building on the commitment to drive systemic change through impactful capacity building initiatives, the recent four-day workshop, Sankalp, brought together a dedicated cohort of 50 professionals from Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) – including MITRA leadership, young professionals, research officers, senior consultants, and administrative officers. Along with skill development; it was about equipping these changemakers with the insights and tools needed to foster sustainable transformation within their institution and beyond.

Aiming to drive systemic transformation in education, Piramal School of Leadership has signed an MoU with the Rajasthan Department of School Education under the state’s transformative 'Rising Rajasthan' initiative. This partnership goes beyond collaboration – it's a commitment to reshaping educational leadership and outcomes across the state, empowering Rajasthan’s students and educators with the skills needed to lead in a dynamic world. Working closely with Samagra Shiksha, the Directorate of Secondary Education (DOSE), Rajasthan SCERT, SIEMAT, and other key educational organizations, this initiative aims to build a culture of curiosity and innovation within schools.

The Homeopathic Medical Association of India (HMAI) recently honoured Digital Bharat Collaborative team member, Mr. Dhananjay Upadhyay, with the "Token of Appreciation" Award for his contributions to advancing the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in Uttar Pradesh. Dhananjay, ABDM Microsite Consultant, conducted a Continuing Medical Education session engaging over 50 homeopathic doctors and practitioners in Varanasi.

Water is life, every drop matters. At Piramal School of Leadership, the motto is to ensure that access to safe and quality water is met as a humanitarian need. In collaboration with Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Jammu and Kashmir, a two-day training workshop was organised on "Water Quality" at IMPARD Campus, Srinagar, aiming at equipping those on the front lines with the tools and knowledge to address the region’s water quality challenges.

In a significant stride toward transforming educational landscapes and preserving cultural heritage, Piramal School of Leadership (PSL) launches the 'Story Pedagogy' initiative in collaboration with KATHA-300M and the Tribal Affairs Department of Madhya Pradesh. This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in August 2024, represents a commitment to harnessing the power of storytelling as a vital educational tool that fosters creative expression and critical thinking.

Children today face significant challenges in their learning environments like stress, anxiety, emotional struggles, and bullying, which can hinder their ability to thrive academically and socially. As these issues become more prevalent, it is evident that education must go beyond academics. Schools need to foster emotional intelligence and equip students with the social skills essential for navigating life’s challenges.

The International WASH Conference 2024, centered on the theme "Partnerships and Cooperation for Inclusive Water Development and Management gathered water experts, government leaders, and private-sector visionaries. Sangeeta Mamgain, Head of the School of Climate and Sustainability, Piramal Foundation, emphasized the need for RWPF Partners to reimagine the approach to collaborating with the Ministry.

School of Education & Systems Change are committed to building agency and developing resilience in students as the world around us becomes more dynamic and unprecedented. Building resilience is crucial on two fronts – internally as well as externally - like in public systems. Children are most vulnerable in times of disaster, facing physical harm, emotional distress, and the disruption of their education. And it is only through collaboration between governments, policymakers, educators, and communities that these needs will be met.

The Digital Bharat Collaborative, part of Piramal Foundation, recently hosted a boot camp for Batch 5 Karuna Fellows from Assam. 36 Fellows shared their life journeys and explored the power of communication for social transformation. Smt. Sikha Borthakur, State Behaviour Change Communication Expert, National Health Mission, Assam, praised the Fellows, saying, "The passion these young leaders have shown for public health is truly inspiring." The Karuna Fellowship focuses on empowering women, enabling them to drive transformative change and positively impact their communities.

Maulshree Kalothia, Programme Director at our School of Education & Systems Change, contributed valuable insights in a webinar titled "Promoting Physical Literacy: Building Foundations for Lifelong Health and Well-being," organized by the Sports and Society Accelerator and ISCA, alongside an esteemed panel of experts.

Digital Bharat Collaborative believes in the philosophy of women's development to women-led development. We recently conducted an induction workshop for our seventh batch of Karuna Fellows of Assam, in Guwahati. 90 newly recruited Fellows received training in preparation for the transformative impact of this 2-year programme on their future. The Karuna Fellowship aims to build life skills, livelihood skills and digital skills of women in rural areas. To date, over 171 Karuna Fellows are soaring high, fanning the winds of change.

Digital Bharat Collaborative’s HOPE (Health Online Parameter Evaluation) centre in Uttar Pradesh, hosted the Ethiopian Health Ministry delegation led by Mr. Gemechis Melkamu, Lead Executive Officer-Digital Health, on 13th August. The delegates explored and lauded the online monitoring processes and effective data-analytics towards enhancing health service delivery.

Effective water management at the district level hinges on seamless collaboration across multiple departments, making convergence crucial for impactful climate action. Towards this end, our School of Climate and Sustainability organized a dynamic personal transformation and team-building workshop for officers from four critical departments—Public Health Engineering (PHED), Agriculture, PRI, and Rural Development—across five blocks in Ranchi District of Jharkhand. These officers, representing eight different cadres, are pivotal in managing integrated water resources for their regions' domestic and agricultural needs.

Continuing our commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting the future of youth in Jharkhand, Piramal School of Leadership in collaboration with the Tribal Welfare Department, Jharkhand, co-hosted a groundbreaking State-Level Workshop on Pre-Matric Scholarship (#eKalyan) in Ranchi on July 22-23, 2024.

At Piramal School of Leadership (PSL), we believe that every individual in the government system has the potential to be a leader, capable of driving systemic change through personal transformation. In line with this vision, PSL's School of Climate and Sustainability (SOCS) recently facilitated a Personal Transformation workshop for the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sehore, Madhya Pradesh.

At PSL's School of Education & Systems Change, we are helping children experience emotions and express themselves creatively by practicing art languages, learning skills, and building positive mindsets. The aesthetic literacy workshops with over 1040 educators from 6 districts of Kashmir highlighted our vision for integrating theatre, photography, music, and poetry into education, fostering social awareness, and aligning with human values. We explored the integration of aesthetic literacy with other subjects, cultivating a growth mindset, and implementing effective assessment strategies to prepare students for future challenges.

At the two-day Northeast CSR Conclave 2024, Piramal Foundation showcased its work across eight northeastern states. Anamaya THC highlighted its efforts on inclusion with tribal communities. Dr. Sukanta Majumdar and Manvendra Pratap Singh (IAS) engaged with our team during the event.

The essence of Leadership, born out of a sense of purpose, was the core area of focus at the Delhi launch of Dr. R Balasubramaniam's book, 'Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi,' in New Delhi, on June 28. At the Delhi launch of Dr. R Balasubramaniam's book, 'Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi,' Mr. Ajay Piramal shared profound insights on being a Leader of Transformation, emphasizing principles like alignment with values, learning, the self, and purpose. Drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophies on the concept of leadership, Mr Piramal highlighted principles like Sadachar (Alignment with Values), Shiksha (Alignment with Learning), and Sadhna (Alignment with the Self) and of course, Sewa (Alignment with Purpose). It is with pride that we say that these principles form the foundation of what we believe at Piramal School of Leadership’s SOESC.

Piramal School of Leadership introduced an intensive 10-12 hour experiential Physical Literacy (PL) curriculum during a 10-day residential leadership training for the SRG group at SIEMAT Jaipur. Guided by the principle "System Change Starts with Self Change," this training allowed the 50-member cohort of school principals to deeply connect with structured physical movement. Through this transformative experience, our leaders discovered the immense value and joy of physical literacy, reimagining the role of physical education in fostering long-term well-being and essential 21st-century skills like collaboration, communication, and teamwork in children. Our team in Bahraich, U.P., recently co-hosted a pivotal convergence meeting. Led by the Gram Pradhan, the gathering enlightened over 60 women, including adolescent girls, on various government empowerment schemes such as Mahila-E-Haat and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. Critical health issues, including menstrual hygiene and family planning, were also addressed, ensuring women have adequate information to improve the quality of their lives.

Hon. Collector Indrajeet Singh Chandrawal chaired screening and awareness sessions for sickle cell disease, hypertension, and diabetes in Balod district, Chhattisgarh. The initiative involved collaboration with CMHO, District Superintendent of Police, AC Tribal CEO, and Health Department officials, aiming to raise awareness and provide screenings for these critical health issues. Like, share, and comment to join the conversation.

Our team successfully completed a three-day training workshop for Anganwadi workers in Khunti, Jharkhand, focusing on the Poshan Tracker App. Conducted in collaboration with the District Health Department, this training is integral to our child nutrition tracking efforts. The sessions included detailed demonstrations and interactive learning experiences, preparing participants to effectively use the app to enhance community health outcomes. Technology being the heart of this program underscores our dedication to #SewaBhaav and efforts to empower community health workers.

In a landmark collaboration with the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Piramal School of Leadership proudly welcomed 11 program coordinators known as Karmayogi Saarthi. The inaugural ceremony held in New Delhi on June 11, 2024, was honored by the presence of distinguished guests such as Piramal Foundation CEO Mr Aditya Natraj, CBC Chairman Mr Adil Zainulbhai, Secretary CBC Mr S.P. Roy, CBC members Ms. Alka Mittal and Dr. R. Balasubramaniam, Piramal Foundation Core Team Member Mr. Saurabh Johri, and several Ministries, Departments, and Organisations (MDOs).  As a part of Mission Karmyogi, these young, dynamic, and dedicated program coordinators during their #SewaJourney will facilitate capacity building while fostering collaboration within various MDOs. They will assist the Capacity Building Unit (CBU) team in implementing the Annual Capacity Plan, adhere to Karmayogi guidelines, and support the Central Civil Service Training Institutions in onboarding the Accreditation framework. We are thrilled with the impact these program coordinators will make in driving Mission Karmayogi forward to bring transformation to the public service landscape.

TB Mukt Bharat in Mizoram organized its first health camp for inmates and staff at District Jail, Aizawl. The camp screened for TB symptoms using the Cough AI app and AI-enabled handheld X-ray machines in collaboration with USAID India. Sputum samples from presumed TB cases were sent for molecular testing.

From May 27th to 29th, Aspirational Bharat Collaborative held a dynamic induction program in Patna for new team members joining between August 2023 and March 2024. The program began with introspective journaling activities that encouraged self-discovery and clarified roles and aspirations. Day 2 focused on aligning new hires with the organization's mission and strategy, ensuring a sense of purpose in contributing to broader goals, including the "Big Bet" strategy. The final day emphasized the values of 'Sewa Bhav' and collaboration, fostering a cohesive organizational culture. The highlight of the event was the "Meditating through Art" session, which creatively explored self-love and rejuvenation through artistic expression.

To nurture the spirit of #SewaBhaav in young minds, Chairman, Mr. Ajay Piramal with the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama launched Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning in Himachal Pradesh. The program combines ancient Indian wisdom with Western science, equipping students with essential life skills for emotional well-being, compassion, and ethical decision-making.

On May 22, His Holiness the Dalai Lama personally blessed the Chairman and the Foundation during the launch of Social Emotional and Ethical (SEE) Learning in Himachal Pradesh. The day had three parts: a private audience and MOU signing at the Dalai Lama's residence, an SEE Learning exhibition at the Tibetan Library showcasing work across five states, and a conference awarding certifications and highlighting the program's impact. Senior leaders from Emory University and various government officials attended, emphasizing compassion and emotional resilience. A coffee table book on SEE Learning's reach in 100,000 schools was also launched.

In Sahibganj, Jharkhand, the 'Zero Drop Out Panchayats' campaign marked a critical move towards addressing vector-borne diseases and achieving its goals. The seminar with district and block officials focused on rolling out Health Club initiatives across 1,290 schools, aiming to empower students as change leaders. Thanks to leaders like Deputy Commissioner Hemant Sati, IAS, for inspiring such collaboration that spans across departments, setting the stage for impactful community campaigns.

A one-day seminar on Convergence and Zero Dropout convened in Lohardaga, Jharkhand, with 82 local stakeholders. Inspired by discussions with the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) and local educational data analysis, the seminar aimed to address dropout rates and ensure educational continuity. It underscored cross-departmental collaboration for the Zero Dropout #Panchayat campaign, focusing on strategies to reduce dropouts and enhance educational transitions at the block level.

Acknowledging the contribution of traditional healers, a felicitation event was hosted at the state's Agriculture Marketing (Mandi) Board in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on March 13, 2024. Certified under voluntary certification schemes for traditional community health practitioners, these skilled healers were celebrated for their expertise and dedication to serving their communities. Shri Ramvichar Netam, Minister of Tribal Affairs, Agriculture Development And Farmer Welfare, Government of Chhattisgarh graced the occasion, extending his appreciation to Anamaya THC for their efforts in certifying traditional healers. Furthermore, he urged healers to refer patients with complex ailments to primary healthcare centres for further treatment, ensuring comprehensive care and patient well-being. The event not only honoured the rich heritage of traditional healing but also highlighted the significance of integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary healthcare practices in the pursuit of holistic health solutions.

Monal Jayaram, Co-founder & Director at Piramal School of Leadership's School of Education & Systems Change at @CIES Miami outlined PSL's mission to revolutionize India's education system by nurturing student self-agency, compassion, autonomy, and inclusion through 21stCentury curriculum. Detailing the system-strengthening approach of #ProjectSampoorna, a consortium-led program in collaboration with the Department of School Education and Literacy, Jharkhand, she threw light how the initiative aims to integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into public schools, resulting in the introduction of the #Harsh Johar Curriculum tailored to the socio-cultural context of Jharkhand. A one-day seminar titled "Rajasthan Life Skills Seminar: Empowering Education" delved into the significance of 21st-century life skills in paving the path for personal and professional success. The event was honored to have hosted Rajasthan's Honorable Education Minister, Shri. Madan Dilawar ji, and Secretary to Government, School Education, Shri. Naveen Jain ji. It served as a dedicated space for stakeholders from civil society organizations, government agencies, and educators to converge and deliberate on integrating life skills into Rajasthan's socio-cultural fabric. Through empowering dialogues tailored to address Rajasthan's unique challenges, the seminar aimed to foster a holistic approach to education.

The Saksham Assam team organized a district-level dissemination event at the Tocklai Tea Research Institute in Jorhat on February 28, 2024. NHM officials and community representatives attended, where Saksham interventions like the District Task Force, MAAdol drive, and Core Community Group initiatives were showcased. The event emphasized a multi-sectoral approach to MNCH issues, with representatives from various organizations present. A skit by the "Natun Diganta" youth club highlighted community awareness about social protection schemes. The event brought together key stakeholders from Odisha, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, fostering the exchange of best practices in integrating SEE Learning into the education curriculum. Professor Lobsang Tenzin Negi, among other esteemed representatives from Emory University, joined the event for immersive experiences, including field visits and exhibitions.

The Piramal School of Leadership participated in the Sports and Society Accelerator's event, 'The Dialogues,' bringing together stakeholders to address contemporary issues in sports and physical activity (SAPA). PSL, known for its expertise in collaborative narratives and innovative pedagogies, is committed to shaping the future of SAPA through collaboration with partners.

The dialogue between Shri Amarjeet Sinha and Shri Manmohan Singh centred on policy and governance reforms' impact on national initiatives like SSA, NRHM, NRLM, and MoRD. Sinha’s insights into decentralisation and last-mile reach, based on his experience and writings, highlighted the nuances of policy reform and its implementation challenges and opportunities. This engagement provided essential learnings on executing inclusive and effective reforms for transformative change, underscoring the need for deliberate policymaking for national development.

Piramal Foundation was honored at Odisha's state-level felicitation ceremony, Mukhyamantri Sikhya Purashkar, celebrating the contributions of teachers, students, DIETs, Alumni Committees, Gram Panchayats, and district administrations towards transforming the school education system. A notable initiative unfolded in Latehar Jharkhand, led by Civil Surgeon Dr. Avdesh Singh where Tri-Cycles were distributed to patients affected by elephantiasis took place during the "Apki yojna Apki sarkar Apki Dwar" event at Kundri High School. The initiative was taken towards improving the lives of filariasis patients in Latehar with a proactive approach to healthcare challenges in collaboration with key district officials.

Nandini Piramal, Chairperson, Piramal Pharma Ltd was among the 56 trailblazing other women from fields as varied as pharma, entertainment, start-ups, finance, and manufacturing being felicitated. Driving the purpose of "Doing Well, Doing Good" the Piramal Pharma Limited(PPL) event held on November 28 at PLU Kurla, Mumbai, witnessed active participation of 32 PPL leaders (Band 5 and above). The event focused on fostering a connection with PPL's core purpose of "Sewa Bhav" through meaningful volunteering. Themed on Water Conservation and Sustainability, the six exhibition stalls showcased initiatives like PSL, THC, DBC, ABC- Water, ABC- Health, and ABC- Education. Piramal Foundation, in collaboration with Seth G.S. Medical College, King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEM), and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), has initiated a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to address healthcare needs in aspirational districts of Maharashtra. The focus is on improving the well-being of 28 lakh tribal residents, starting in Palghar district, with plans for expansion. Piramal Foundation along with USAID India conducted the Indigenous Knowledge Systems & Self-Determined Development', a day-long learning conclave on 23rd August to celebrate traditional knowledge systems in Delhi. Veena Reddy, USAID Mission Director to India stated, “Impressed by the vision and passion of prominent representatives from indigenous communities who are promoting local leadership and self-determined development in India. Took away several lessons for decentralizing our approach and engaging local communities more directly”.
