Mr Alok Kumar (Joint Secretary NITI Aayog – Advisor, Health & Nutrition) inaugurated a model Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) with AMRIT  (Accessible Medical Records via Integrated Technology) as the technology backbone in Hajipara Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Barpeta district, Assam, India.

AMRIT is the digital health platform that connects beneficiaries, health facilities, and the health workforce in an integrated ecosystem through technology. Simultaneously, AMRIT also went live in four other HWCs of Aspirational Districts - Sirarai HWC in Sheikhpura district, Bihar, Kusma HWC in Sahibganj district, Jharkhand, Rasala HWC in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan and Katkuiyakala HWC in Srawasti district, Uttar Pradesh.

AMRIT as a public good and will be a key enabler in creating care continuum and helping close the referral loop right from the beneficiaries’ doorsteps all the way up to the district hospital. AMRIT also has gone live with the frontline health worker mobile application. This application will help frontline health workers do enumeration, household ID creation, basic screening & referrals that will result in reduced or minimal data entry in the registers, thereby improving data quality & increasing the productivity of the frontline health workers.

Apart from creating a care continuum via technology-enabled solutions, Piramal Swasthya’s focus also lies in making AMRIT more usable, robust, and secure. Towards this, many efforts have gone in to ensure that the data is handled safely and stored securely. The learnings from this deployment will help capture valuable insights that  can then be looped back into the framework of the National Digital Health Mission.
