Celebrating World Environment Day: Empowering Communities for a Greener Future

On World Environment Day, Piramal Foundation conducted a series of impactful activities, educational seminars and sustainability initiatives across India. These events underscored our dedication to environmental stewardship and community engagement, promoting a culture of conservation and sustainable practices.

Celebration took place across 200 villages in Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh where passionate fellows from the School of Climate and Sustainability collaborated with local PRI Jalsahiya and community stakeholders to champion this year’s theme: “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.”

The three days celebration included 46 awareness and sensitization activities were conducted, reaching over 1,000 stakeholders, including local administrations, farmers, women, and youth. This initiative, a testament to the power of collaboration, was made possible through partnerships with the PRI Agriculture Department, Rural Development Department, Forest Department, PHED Department, and local NGOs.

Digital Bharat Collaborative raised awareness about environmental issues to inspire positive change along, with CSR partners Gua Ore Mines, Asian Paints and SAIL Steel. This year's theme focused on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience under the slogan "Our land. Our future." The celebration included awareness sessions on environmental conservation, tree planting drives, and pledges to protect the environment. Plants were distributed to deepen community appreciation for nature.
