A day will come when girls' education is no longer a special focus because every young mind will have equal opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive effortlessly. That will be the dawn of true equity—the Bharat envisioned by so many. Compassionate Gender-Transformative Education System (CGTES) is working toward this vision, creating an educational environment where gender equality and social inclusion are deeply integrated. Shruti Johri, from the School of Education & Systems Change at Piramal School of Leadership, highlights how with the mission of Building Bharat CGTES is promoting gender equity. Inspired by Gandhian values—satya (truth), ahimsa (non-violence), sarvadharma (unity of all faiths), and khadi (promoting local employment and self-reliance)—the system aims to cultivate self-agency and swaraj in students. The ultimate goal is to prepare healthier adolescents, especially girls, to contribute as empowered, democratic citizens in the Bharat that is envisioned.
