Graduation Ceremony for the 4th Batch of Karuna Fellows in Guwahati

The graduation ceremony for the 4th batch of Karuna Fellows was held on March 5, 2025, in Guwahati, Assam, celebrating the journey of 47 Fellows from Assam and Bihar who have been driving change in their communities. A panel discussion featuring core team members and alumni Fellows focused on women’s empowerment, gender equity, and transformative leadership, highlighting how Karuna Fellows are challenging traditional gender roles, stepping into leadership, and driving change in education, healthcare, and grassroots development.

Dr. Navanil Barua, Director of Neurosurgery at GNRC Hospital Ltd., graced the occasion as Chief Guest, presenting graduation certificates to the Fellows. The event was also attended by Piramal Foundation’s core team member Mr. Rohit Talwar, Assistant Manager Mr. Pranjal Saikia, and Head-Outreach Mr. Najeeb Hazarika.

He emphasized the power of women’s leadership, stating, “When you train a woman from a minority, tribal, or marginalized background, she inspires hundreds of others around her.”

The ceremony was a testament to the resilience, dedication, and impact of Karuna Fellows, recognizing their contributions in building gender-inclusive leadership and driving social transformation.
