Dear Team, Donors, and Partners,
I am honored to co-lead the Foundation in our mission to uplift 200 million people from poverty. This year marked a pivotal moment as the Tribal Health Collaborative (THC) transitions into the Inclusive Bharat Collaborative (IBC), firmly grounded in the principles of People, Voices, and Knowledge and driven by the values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This evolution reaffirms our commitment to amplifying tribal voices, preserving their traditional knowledge, and advancing their rights.
None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary dedication of our team, the unwavering generosity of our donors, and steadfast partners. Your commitment has empowered tribal communities to amplify their voices, preserve traditional knowledge, and assert their rights, laying a strong foundation for Building Bharat.
We embraced new opportunities through initiatives like the Impact India Project, Stop TB (Tuberculosis), and the Karuna Fellowship, expanding our reach while deepening our impact. Our TB advocacy and community mobilization was nationally recognised, with six states awarded as Best Performing States in Advocacy, Communication, and Social Mobilization by the Central TB Division. Additionally, we were selected as the lead partner for the Central TB Division’s Intensified 100-Day Campaign in multiple states.
Another milestone was the government’s official recognition of Traditional Tribal Healers, acknowledging their role alongside AYUSH practitioners. The launch of the Karuna Fellowship empowered 20 young tribal women as community health workers, strengthening primary healthcare in Assam.
A defining moment was the successful handover of the ASARA project in Araku Valley after 14 years of impactful work in maternal and child health. The ASARA team— drawn from the communities they serve—stand as a powerful example of community-driven development.
This year has brought significant challenges, but we have navigated the turbulence with resilience and emerged stronger. As we look ahead to a brighter future, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our leadership, dedicated teams, and supportive partners for standing together through these difficult times.
As we look to the future, we are excited to expand into Gujarat, Rajasthan, and West Bengal through the Impact India Project and deepen our initiatives towards a TB Mukt Panchayat, RMNCH (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health) interventions, and the recognition of Tribal Healers nationwide. Our vision for a Viksit Bharat is anchored in strategic collaborations, operationalizing DEI and PVK principles, and driving cultural transformation within our organization. The spirit of Sewa Bhav will continue to guide us, keeping us true to our mission.
Thank you for your unwavering trust, support, and belief in our vision. Together, we will continue to build an Inclusive Bharat and create lasting change.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Dr. Moorthy Uppaluri
