Transforming Chandankotia: Narendra Kumar Verma’s mission of #BuildingBharat

The Panchayat Bhavan, a place meant to serve as the hub of governance and progress, was in a dilapidated state in the Chandankotia village in Shravasti district. The village school lacked basic facilities, leaving children with limited opportunities to learn. Poor sanitation, coupled with the absence of clean drinking water, further deepened the struggles of daily life for the residents. When Narendra Kumar Verma took charge of Building Bharat, he refused to accept the status quo. Driven by a vision for transformation, he initiated a series of impactful actions to uplift his village. His first step was renovating the Panchayat Bhavan, turning it into a safe and functional center for community activities and decision-making. Recognizing the importance of education, he upgraded the village school, creating an environment where children could dream and learn with dignity. To address healthcare and child nutrition, Narendra established a new Anganwadi Kendra, ensuring that the youngest residents of Chandankotia received the care they deserved. For clean drinking water, he constructed a water tank and laid a piped water supply system to every household, freeing families from the burden of fetching water. Understanding the critical need for accessibility and hygiene, he spearheaded the construction of PWD roads, RRC sheds, and community toilets, improving the quality of life for everyone, especially women and the elderly. Narendra Kumar Verma’s leadership is proof that with dedication and community involvement, even the most overlooked places can shine as beacons of development. His story inspires villages across the region, showing that meaningful change begins with a leader who dares to act.
